About this session

This session will teach participants how to use design for visual environmental storytelling. The team at Brown Girl Green will go over how to approach and transform an environmental case study (centered in equity and justice) into an actionable, accessible, and educational piece of content. Brown Girl Green Founder and Creator, Kristy Drutman as well as Creative Lead, Usman Fahimullah will lead you in the first half of the workshop on how they transform dense, esoteric information about environmental justice and climate science research into entertaining graphics for their social media platform. In the second half, you will have the opportunity to participate in a design sprint where you will be asked to take a campaign/ issue area from an existing environmental organization / company and to transform the case study into a visual aid & storytelling tool to reach wider audiences.
