About this session

Join this 90 minute workshop to discover how to incorporate a climate justice framework into your work.

After a presentation on climate justice and the extractive economy (why we need to move to circular economy), attendees will break into groups based on their type of design work; product design, print design, interactive design, etc.

Attendees will power map what this design process looks like using a climate justice lens at every possible point they identify. Towards the end of the session, attendees have the option to share with the larger group. These power maps will be archived on for future designers to refer to in their work, if they want to incorporate climate justice into their projects.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of climate justice.

  • Explore levers for change in the design process from start to finish.

  • Apply a climate justice lens over every project decision through a power mapping exercise with others in the same field of design.

  • Take away new ideas and outlook to incorporate into your work, from the shared power maps.
