About this session

Talking about climate change is hard. Some people feel anxious or angry; others find it impossible to see eye to eye with those who think differently. It is rare that we have honest and empathetic conversations about climate change with friends, colleagues or neighbors. Yet having these spaces is crucial to cultivate the solutions needed to address the crisis.

Using Costa Rica's Climate Conversations methodology and other evidence-based approaches, I will share best practices for having sincere and productive chats about climate change. The session will include a collaborative workshop to tailor a climate conversation for the design community. With this toolkit, designers can build skills to bring conversations about the climate crisis in their workplace, family or group of friends.
